Natural Skin Care

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

By Edward Group You work hard to eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly. You know that organic foods can help you avoid ingesting nasty hormones and chemicals but did you know that these toxins are creeping into your system in other ways? Your moisturizers, eye creams, and make up may seem harmless, but check out the labels and you’ll find a laundry list of tongue-twisting ingredients, many of which could be hazardous to your health. In a recent survey, conducted by Health, eighty three percent of responding consumers indicated that they would rather use all natural body products. The skin care industry is responding to this demand. The natural and organic skin care product sector has seen a growth of thirty nine percent over the last year. Some of these products may claim to be all-natural, while still containing a slew of chemicals and toxins. Here’s what you need to know about natural skin care and how to determine if the product you are using is free of harmful chemicals. Why Choose Natural Skin Care Products? There is approximately six pounds of skin on your body which provides a porous membrane into your system. Dirt, dust, pollutants, and other environmental pollutants enter the body through the skin, providing a more significant gateway to your system than food. The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) found that 884 chemicals used in personal care products and cosmetics are known to be toxic. And a recent Canadian study in Pediatric Drugs found cosmetic and personal care products as the most common cause of unintentional poisonings of kids under six. The chemicals and toxins found in most commercial skin care products also have a detrimental effect on the environment, although this effect is just beginning to be understood. In March, a team of US Geological Survey scientists showed that a variety of chemicals from personal care products were among 95 wastewater contaminants found in US waterways. Why poison yourself and the environment with toxic chemicals and pollutants? Natural skin care products are healthier for you, for your skin, and for the environment. But many products may claim to be all-natural while still containing a number of harmful ingredients. Make sure you read and understand the product label to ensure that the product your using is as natural as it claims to be. Reading the Ingredients Label Organic personal care manufacturing needs strict standards and enforcement in order to be effective. Currently, some manufacturers claim their products are organic merely as a marketing gimmick. One look at their products ingredients clearly suggests otherwise. Only by tying organic beauty care closely to the National Organic Program standards can the lifestyle marketed by the manufacturers represent the values at the core of organic agriculture. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) classifies cosmetics into 13 categories, but it does not regulate them. According to the FDA, A cosmetic manufacturer may use any ingredient or raw material and market the final product without government approval. Seven toxins are banned, but many more known toxins and carcinogens are allowed in cosmetic formulations. Less than one percent of the FDAs budget is for the evaluation of skin care products. Many commercial skin care products have been regularly found to contain toxic chemicals. Surprisingly, most personal care products are not tested for health and safety. And because the FDA does not regulate skin care manufacturers, questionable ingredients often make their way into their formulas. These ingredients may seem harmless in the short-term, but their chemical components are stored in the fatty tissues of the body where they accumulate and magnify over time. Cosmetics and personal care products are marketed based on the quality and content of their formulas. Many products claim to be filled with expensive vitamins, oils, and perfumes. Others claim to utilize an all-natural formula. But how can you be sure that the products you buy actually contain the ingredients they claim to have? Read the label, right? But unless you happen to be a scientist or chemist, the ingredient list on most cosmetics and personal care products will look like a long list of mind-numbing, tongue-twisting names. This is where natural and organic skin care products should stand out. If a product claims to be all natural, its ingredients should be easily recognizable as natural components. Also, the ingredients should be listed in descending order with the most prominent factors listed first. Scrutinize the first several listings in the product to be sure that they are the natural ingredients you are looking for. If a skin care product contains an ingredient that you are unsure about, write down it’s name and do a little research. A quick online search should reveal it’s true nature. As a consumer, you need to be on the look out for chemicals and toxic ingredients that can be harmful to your skin and your body. You would not even think about eating a food that contained chemicals or cancer causing agents. Don’t let these toxins enter your system through your beauty product either! The borrower would be required to place significant collateral. A Bridging loans lender would accept the following as security for the loan Residential properties Auction properties Commercial and semi-commercial properties Development sites Sites with planning permission Buy to let properties Retail shops Overseas property Heavy machinery, business equipment, inventory can also function as collateral. Bridging loans can be secured by getting a mortgage on the new property and taking out a second mortgage on the property being sold. Bridging loans involve an evaluation of property. Usually there are no redemption penalties with bridging loans. Self certification in the context of bridging loans is also possible. Be prepared to pay more on bridging loans. A bridging loan poses a sizeable risk to the loan lender because the old home may not sell for some time. The interest rate on bridging loans is comparatively higher than conventional mortgages. The typical interest rate is one half of a percent. The interest rate is generally dependent on credit history, value of collateral placed and loan term. The borrower starts making interest payment at the end of the term, in case, the old property is not sold. After the old home is sold, the bridge loan is paid back. If the house is sold within the term limit, all the unearned interest is credited back to the borrower. Selecting the Right Perfume

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

By Michael Russell If you have decided to purchase perfume for yourself or for someone else as a gift, you will find that it may be difficult to decide which perfume to choose. With so many different varieties of perfumes on the market, just how are you supposed to select the right one? Below, you will find the answer. First, if cost is a big consideration when you are purchasing perfume, then you may want to predetermine how much you are going to spend before you start shopping. Some brands can be pretty pricey and if you are on a budget, you will want to remain within the confines of your spending limit. Next, you will need to determine if you want to purchase a perfume that has a light or a heavy scent. If you are buying for yourself, this task is far easier than if you are purchasing perfume for someone else. Therefore, finding out in advance what perfume a person prefers is your best option. For instance, if your friend likes wearing musk, then look for musk when you are purchasing perfume and if your friend or loved one likes earthy scents, then look for an earthy scent when you shop. Next, there is actually a trick to smelling perfume. Have you ever noticed that when you smell perfume from the bottle and then you smell it on your wrist it does not ever smell the same? That’s because perfumes react with your body chemicals. So, you will want to purchase a perfume that is not only pleasing to the nose when you open the bottle, but one that is pleasing when it reacts to skin contact. Also, once you have applied the perfume to your wrist, wait a few seconds as the strong odor will dissipate and will leave you with the scent that the perfume is meant to provide. It is not a wise idea to purchase perfume just because the bottle is pretty. Unless you truly do not care what is inside the bottle and you only want the bottle, you really should take a few moments to test out what’s inside. You may find that the perfume inside your gorgeous bottle smells absolutely atrocious or that it does not suit your personality at all. Finally, if you decide to purchase perfumes online you should email the company to send you a variety of samples before you make your purchases. Again, a website can tell you absolutely nothing about what a perfume smells like. Just because the advertisement says that the perfume has a lovely musk scent, it doesn’t mean that you will think the scent is lovely when you receive your package. Therefore, unless you are familiar with a perfume product, refrain from shopping for perfumes online until you have had an opportunity to sample the product. ——————————————————- Michael Russell Your Independent guide to Perfume ——————————————————- Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Michael_Russell http://EzineArticles.com/?Selecting-the-Right-Perfume&id=124666 online pharmacy carisoprodol hydrocodone valium diazepam online without a prescription xanax valium soma lortab no prescription required buy mexican valium

Cosmetic Dentistry and Teeth Whitening

Monday, January 14th, 2008

By Stuart Simpson Maybe you are ready to get rid of your old silver fillings. Maybe you dont like you discolored teeth. Or maybe your smile needs adjusting. This new dentistry goes beyond just fixing teeth. Its about helping people gain more self confidence by having a wonderful smile. Your image matters and tells your customers and friends that you value your image and expect the best in return. There are several different forms of cosmetic dentistry to give you that winning smile. Crowns, veneers, bonding and bleaching are all effective methods to varying degrees and price. Cosmetic crowns can cover old, leaking silver fillings. They can also cover fractured and broken teeth. If you have visible fillings when you smile, porcelain crowns can eliminate that metallic look. Crowns are tooth colored to match your existing teeth. They are carefully tinted to match existing teeth. Cost can range from $550 to $800 per tooth. Veneers are around $750 to $2,000 per tooth. But it will reshape your teeth. The dentist usually grinds down your teeth and adds a custom porcelain shell. Most people get the six to ten teeth in their smile zone fixed. Then you can have the others bleached. But the bad news they usually have to be replaced about every 10 years. Bonding is similar, but uses a plastic resin instead of the porcelain. Dentists have used these to replace chipped teeth. Bonding is done by hand by the dentist and is much cheaper at $300 to $700 per tooth. It cant reshape your teeth like veneers, but it can whiten your teeth similar to bleaching. Bleaching is good choice if you dont need your teeth straightened or reshaped. Peroxide bubbles out some of the stains in the tooth enamel. Your dentist will make a tooth tray for about $200-$500 that allows you to wear and let the peroxide do its trick. Usually you can get your teeth 5 shades whiter. You may have heard of Zoom! or BriteSmile. These are dentist-performed bleaching using special gels that are light activated. This can get your teeth up to 10 shades whiter! But this process can run from $400 to $1200. But its fast and your done. Before you go to any extremes, it may be beneficial to try the Crest Whitestrips Premium. This may give you an idea of how much change you want before spending the big bucks at the dentist for a professional service. Long ago, they used chlorine as a paste on peoples teeth. Looked great, but it ate off all the enamel and subsequent tooth decay set in causing unbearable pain. Thank goodness we have better options. There are several methods to whiten your teeth. These are some ideas on how to get your teeth, not only whiter, but also give you that wining smile you deserve. The Body Wrap - A Relaxing Experience To Reduce Your Cellulite Problem

Thursday, January 10th, 2008

By Tim Gorman When you hear the phrase “body wrap”, do you start to visualize yourself being trussed up like a mummy? Most of us have heard of body wrapping, but often don’t have any idea exactly what it is or how it works. In fact, although you might think that being wrapped up sounds a little bit scary, it can be a rather relaxing experience, as well as helping get rid of cellulite. So let’s take a look at what’s really involved in a body wrap, so that you can decide for yourself if you’d like to try body wrapping to reduce your cellulite. The first step is to remove all your clothes, although you can generally leave on your undergarments. If you’re only planning to have one part of your body wrapped, then you may leave other clothing on as well. The practitioner will begin by exfoliating the skin, with a sea salt scrub a popular choice. Then your body will be lathered with a cream mask made from natural substances. Algae, mud and seaweed are the most popular choices for the cream. Hydrating lotions are often mixed in with the cream. Once your body is covered in the nourishing cream, warm cloths or seaweed is wrapped around you. These stay on for between 20 and 45 minutes, and feel wonderful. Once you are unwrapped again, all the cream is rinsed off. Then another hydrating body cream or lotion is applied to finish the process. You need to allow between an hour and an hour and a half for the whole procedure. Detoxing your body is one of the main purposes of a body wrap. Toxins are removed from the body by the metabolic stimulation that the mixture of seaweed and algae promotes. The lotions can also do a great job of hydrating your body. A body wrap encourages your body’s circulation, which is how it helps to minimize the appearance of cellulite. Hydration of the skin also helps this process. Sometimes you will see immediate results, other times it may take a couple of body wrap sessions before results are visible. A body wrap doesn’t provide a long time solution, however. It’s only a temporary fix for cellulite. Often people use other cellulite treatments too, coupled with a weekly body wrap. It’s important that you feel safe and comfortable wherever you choose to go for your body wrap. It’s a rather personal procedure, so comfort is essential. Many establishments also offer a massage, if you would like to have one. If you sometimes suffer from claustrophobia, you may a body wrap distressing, and another type of treatment may be preferable. It’s likely that you’ll be left on your own while the wrap is in place, so make sure you are completely comfortable before the practitioner leaves you. A body wrap can be effective in dealing with cellulite, as well as being a soothing experience. It also helps remove toxins and can improve the appearance of your skin. Sometimes a body wrap can leave you feeling dehydrated, so make sure you hydrate yourself well afterwards by drinking lots of water. Recently Laid Off? How to Quickly Rebound

Monday, January 7th, 2008

By Carl Mueller Ive been laid off so if it has happened to you, I know the feeling. Actually I’ve been laid off twice. The first time, I was walking into the office first thing in the morning and found my manager putting a note on the door stating that all our training classes had been cancelled for the day. I worked for a training company at the time. Given the sad look on her face and our recent low sales results, I knew this was pretty bad so I asked her if I needed to bother unpacking my lunch for that day. She said I didnt. The company went out of business that day I found myself out of a job for the first time since I was 16. The second time I was laid off was a case of a company restructuring. Up until this time, I had experienced several other corporate restructurings and had managed to survive each of them. The first company I worked for after leaving university regularly restructured and I survived four major ones. The last restructuring that occurred, the seven other people in my group were laid off. I was the only one who survived. Getting laid off can be a very devastating experience especially if you really relied on the position for income (who doesnt?) or if you have been employed with the company for a significant period of time and havent had to look for a job recently. The job search market has certainly changed over the past ten years even if you just consider the effect that the Internet has had on it. If you have found yourself the victim of a layoff or downsizing, here are some tips to keep in mind when you are looking to get your career back on track: 1. Dont take it personally. Corporate downsizings are a way of life especially if youve worked in the Internet business or auto industry! Dont disparage your former employer during interviews and dont hold a grudge. This will appear noticeable when you are speaking with people who can influence your ability to find a new job and might hurt your level of motivation and attitude. The last thing you want after being laid off is to become despondent or depressed. Thinking negatively about your former employer will certainly negatively affect the success of your job search. Also, don’t take it personally if on the day of the layoff, you are escorted out of the building or given 30 minutes to pack up your stuff and leave. This is fairly standard and although it can feel pretty brutal, it’s generally how things occur. The first time I was laid off, our computer access had already been taken away and we were given 30 minutes after being notified to pack up our belongings and leave. 2. Figure out how you will handle the layoff in your resume and during interviews. If you were laid off as part of a larger corporate restructuring or simply had your job eliminated, this is what you should be telling people during interviews if you are asked why you are no longer with the company. In other words, you tell the truth. Some people want to try to sugarcoat the situation or invent an elaborate story especially if they are embarrassed about being unemployed or if they think being unemployed will hurt their chances when compared to other job candidates who are currently working. This is a natural feeling but the best thing to do is simply tell the truth. Plus, you might actually luck out: Sometimes a company needs to hire someone as soon as possible and if you are the only candidate who can start right away since you dont need to give several weeks notice to your current employer, all things being equal, you might get the job over other suitable candidates. Ive seen this happen. 3. Figure out a plan to get your job search in gear as soon as possible. This doesnt mean you actually have to start looking for a new job right away. You might decide this is a perfect time to take a vacation or to take some time off to figure out what youd actually like to do next in your career. The best thing to do is to immediately start thinking of the methods you will utilize to get your career back on track. Among other things, you might:Let family, friends and former colleagues know that you are looking for a new job. They might know someone who knows someoneOften this is the best way to get your name out there. Knowing someone and being in the right place at the right time is a legitimate and popular way of finding a new job. Find several recruiters that can help you with your job search. Recruiters are paid when they help companies find people to hire and they are experts in the job search field. Good recruiters can help supplement your job search and make you aware of positions you might not have otherwise known about. South Beach Diet Overview

Saturday, January 5th, 2008

By Beverley Brooke Developed by Dr. Arthur Agatston, The South Beach Diet touts itself as teaching dieters to eat the right carbs and the right fats. The diet has three phases. In the first dieters banish their bad carb cravings and induce rapid weight loss. In the second phase, some types of carbs are reintroduced and weight loss is slower. The final phase is the Diet for Life phase. This is the maintenance diet and will be followed for the rest of the dieters life. If at any time the dieter begins to gain unwanted pounds, then he simply goes through the induction and pre-maintenance phases again. The first phase emphasizes protein from high-quality meat sources with lots of fresh vegetables and salads with real olive oil dressing. Bread, rice, pastas, potatoes, baked goods, soy milk and cheese, yogurt, beets, carrots, corn and all fruit are forbidden in the 14-day induction phase. This includes all candy, cake, ice cream and sugar, plus meats that are cured in sugar or molasses. The diet encourages three meals a day with a mid-morning and a mid-afternoon snack. There is also a daily meal plan. This plan includes strict portion control in the induction phase. An example of a daily snack is 20 peanuts. And 30 pistachios is another snack option. Unlike Atkins, unlimited protein consumption is not advised or allowed on this diet. However, during the later phases of the diet some of the strict portion control does end and dieters are able to eat until satiated. Some of the forbidden foods can be slowly reintroduced, sometimes in modified form in the second phase of the diet. The second phase lasts until the dieters goal weight is reached. However, white flour products, potatoes, corn, carrots, beets and sweet fruits like banana and pineapple are still forbidden. After dieters reach their ideal weight, they proceed on to their Diet for Life or maintenance diet. In this phase the forbidden foods are processed foods, white flour products, sweet fruits, and foods with a high glycemic index in general. During the 14-day induction period, Dr. Agatston predicts a weight loss of between eight and 13 pounds, with belly fat being the first to go. In the second phase dieter should continue to lose 1-2 pounds each week as long as they do not go overboard with the carb reintroduction.
